Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains when and how you can receive a refund or cancel a purchase from Plutus IAS. It applies to:
- Course enrolments (offline classroom, hybrid, and live online programmes) booked through plutusias.com or our offices.
- Mentorship programmes including Sankalp Saarthi (face-to-face).
- In-app purchases made through the PlutusIAS Aspirant Android app via the Google Play Store.
If a clause applies to only one product type, it is stated explicitly. Where multiple sections could apply, the more specific section governs.
Section A — Classroom, Hybrid, and Live Online Course Enrolments
Applies to: courses enrolled through the website or at our Karol Bagh office, including foundation courses, 2-year and 3-year programmes, GS courses, optional-subject courses, test series, and offline Sankalp Saarthi mentorship.
A.1 Cancellation Policy
Once enrolled for any course, class, or material with Plutus IAS, Plutus IAS shall not refund the money or transfer the money to be adjusted against any other student.
However, in some cases, the student can change the courses. In such cases, Plutus IAS will deduct administrative charges (minimum 25% of the total payment) and put the remaining money as retained money. Retained money can be used only for new courses with Plutus IAS. Such cases shall be approved by Plutus IAS management.
A.2 Extra Payment Refund Policy
In case Plutus IAS receives extra payments for any course by any means, after receiving proofs for such claims, Plutus IAS will try to refund the extra charges within 15 working days. Refund methods may include direct bank transfer using NEFT, in-person or authorised-representative cheque collection from Plutus IAS offices, or any other means agreed between the student and the management of Plutus IAS.
For any bank-related issues during the payment process, Plutus IAS has no liability for damages that result solely from bank processing or negligence on the part of the student. Students are advised to take up such matters directly with the bank and may proceed to consumer forums if not satisfied. Plutus IAS will try to help the student subject to constraints of time, work-force, and other factors.
Section B — Android App In-App Purchases (Google Play Store)
Applies to: any item you buy inside the PlutusIAS Aspirant Android app, including ₹49 AI Paper Checker top-ups and any future digital purchases.
B.1 Google Play’s standard 48-hour refund window
All in-app purchases made through the Google Play Store are governed by Google's standard refund policy. Within 48 hours of purchase, you may request a refund directly from Google Play via your Google account ("Order history") or via the Play Store help centre. Google processes such refunds automatically and refunds the full amount to your original payment method. Plutus IAS has no control over the Google Play refund process and cannot speed it up, block it, or override it.
B.2 Refund requests after 48 hours
If you discover a technical defect that prevented you from receiving the service paid for (for example, an AI Paper Checker evaluation failed and the credit was not restored automatically), please contact us at [email protected] within 14 days of the purchase. We will investigate and, where the defect is confirmed, either restore the consumed credit, replace the service, or issue a discretionary refund. Refunds at this stage are processed by Plutus IAS directly, not by Google Play.
B.3 No transfer between aspirants
In-app purchases (including the ₹49 paper-checker credit) are linked to the Plutus IAS aspirant account that made the purchase and cannot be transferred to another account.
Section C — In-App Subscriptions (where applicable)
Applies to: any subscription tier launched within the PlutusIAS Aspirant Android app in future, such as a digital Sankalp Saarthi tier.
C.1 Cooling-off period
For any new subscription purchased through the app, you have a 7-day cooling-off period from the date of first purchase during which you can cancel for a full refund, provided you have not consumed substantial features (such as receiving more than 5 AI Paper Checker evaluations, downloading the personalized planner as PDF, or attending a live mentorship session, where applicable). To exercise this right, email [email protected] with your account phone number and date of purchase.
C.2 Mid-cycle cancellation
You may cancel any active subscription at any time from your Google Play account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle — you keep access until then, and no further charges are made. Plutus IAS does not pro-rate refunds for partial unused periods of a paid cycle, except where required by law.
Section D — Statutory Rights
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under applicable law, including the Indian Consumer Protection Act 2019, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, and equivalent consumer-protection statutes for users outside India. Where a clause of this policy is found to be inconsistent with mandatory law, the law prevails and the rest of this policy remains in force.
Section E — How to request a refund
Depending on the product:
- Classroom / hybrid / live online course enrolment: visit your Plutus IAS branch in person or email [email protected] with your enrolment receipt and the reason for the refund or course-change request.
- Google Play in-app purchase within 48 hours: request the refund directly from your Google Play account > Order history > Request a refund. Google processes these.
- In-app purchase issues after 48 hours, or subscription cooling-off: email [email protected] from the same email associated with your aspirant account, with the order ID and a brief description.
Section F — Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our product offering evolves. Material changes will be notified on the website and inside the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the current revision. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
