Moreover, the visit of China’s Special Envoy for Climate Change to India in April 2026 has revived discussions on climate cooperation despite continuing geopolitical tensions.
Climate resilience is increasingly being viewed as a low-risk area of engagement where both countries can cooperate without compromising their strategic interests.
India and China together account for nearly 36% of the world’s population, making climate resilience a global concern rather than merely a bilateral issue.
