 Context

 This year The Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav is celebrating in West Bengal and this is the 11th edition of this Mahotsav

 About the  Mahotsav

Nodal ministry-

 This has been started by the Ministry of culture in the year 2015

 Objective of this  festival-

• This festival enhances mutual understanding and bonding between the people of diverse  culture.
•  it is a strong measure to secure the unity and integrity of our country

 Participation from  zonal centre

•  The festival witnessed the active participation of seven zonal cultural centres from India.  
• These centres are playing a vital role in taking the vibrant culture of India to the people.

 Significance of the  festival

•  The festival is an instrument that showcases folk and tribal art, Dance ,music , cuisine and culture of one state to the other state of our country.
•  It is  cherishing the important goal of our country that is Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat
• The 10th edition of this festival was held in October 2019 in the Madhya Pradesh

 Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat programme

•  This program has been launched by the Prime Minister of India in 2016
• This program will promote engagement among the people of different state and union territories to enhance  mutual understanding, bonding between the people of diverse cultures and securing the stronger interest which has been mentioned in the Preamble of India .
