Context
Recently Government of India has announced National hydrogen mission for our country
Highlights
- The proposal in the budget will be followed up with the mission roadmap for using hydrogen as an energy source.
- The major Industry that hydrogen has the potential of transforming is transportation which contributes a third of all Greenhouse gas emission
- In India Delhi became the first Indian city to operate business running on hydrogen spiked compressed natural gas in a month pilot project
- it can be used in place of diesel gasoline and propane
Objective
The mission aims to reduce petroleum use, Greenhouse gas emission, air pollution and contribute to more diverse and efficient energy infrastructure to the country.
