MPPSC Exam: Syllabus, Exam Pattern & Marking System
MPPSC Exam Overview
The MPPSC State Services Examination (SSE) is conducted in three stages:
- Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
- Main Examination (Descriptive Type)
- Interview/Personality Test
Only candidates who qualify the Preliminary exam can appear for the Mains, and subsequently, the Interview round.
MPPSC Preliminary Exam Pattern
The Preliminary stage consists of two papers, both objective in nature.

General Aptitude Test (Paper II):
- Comprehension
- Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability

- General Mental Ability
- Basic Numeracy

MPPSC Mains Exam Pattern
The Mains examination is descriptive and consists of six papers:

MPPSC Interview/Personality Test
Only candidates who qualify the Mains examination are called for the Interview round. The Interview carries 175 marks and assesses the candidate’s personality, administrative aptitude, and overall knowledge.

- Prelims: 400 marks (not considered in final merit)
- Mains: 1400 marks
- Interview: 175 marks
Total Marks for Final Selection: 1575 marks
